Type Validation Issues

Archived: 2026-01-20 Status: ✅ All issues resolved A technical debt tracking document created during the v0.10.7 TTL bug investigation. Documents 11 categories of type validation issues that were systematically resolved across v0.10.8 through v0.10.10. Why archived: All identified issues have been resolved. The document is preserved to:
  • Show the evolution of type safety in the codebase
  • Demonstrate systematic technical debt resolution

  • Serve as a reference for similar future investigations
Key takeaway: The codebase evolved from “fail late at GraphQL” to “fail early with clear errors” through:
  • Pydantic validation for all dict inputs (50+ methods)
  • Standardized boolean return patterns (40 methods)
  • ID and range validation with clear error messages
  • Type coercion with validation (verify_ssl, port, etc.)
